Tsutsujigaoka Park

Kiryu – Ashikaga – Fujioka – Cycling Route

This is the Cycling Route which lies the full length of 38.4 km.  It goes along the Watarasegawa River from the left bank of Kinoubashi bridge in Kiryu City to the Watarasegawa riverbank in Fujioka town in Tochigi prefecture.  Because most of the road was built exclusively for bicycles, you can cycle in the Ryomo area safely, while enjoying the view of the river.

This road goes through Kiryu City, Ashikaga City, Tatebayashi City, Itakura Town, and Fujioka town in both Gunma and Tochigi prefectures.  It has many parking areas, which allow you to select a starting point of your choice.  It also has many parks nearby, where you can enjoy picnics.

If you want to sightsee in the city as well, going down Tanakabashi bridge in Ashikaga City will lead you to the historic Ashikaga School.

Our recommendation is to go south on the prefectural road 7 in Tatebayashi City to cycle on the cycling roads in the Jonuma area.

For information, call the prefectural road maintenance section at 027-226-3598.

Go over Ninomaru bridge to get to the other side of the river, and going along Jounuma will lead you to a regular road.  Please be careful on this road because there is a lot of traffic.

The total length of the course back to the terminal is about 7 km, and it takes about 40 minutes.
